Amelia’s Backstory:

Amelia Sordell had a fashion business at 21. It was successful and stocked in various renowned outlets in the UK. ASOS was in discussion with her.

But the business failed in the second year. She had to shut it down and return to her job – a humbling experience.

She worked as a marketer in recruitment for 10 years before launching her next business.

Amelia liberally talks about her failures online without feeling ashamed, because she believes that failures are not the opposite of Success, failures are a part of Success.

With that belief and 10 years of experience as an employee, Amelia jumped back to Entrepreneurship, right in the middle of the pandemic.

The world was shut, but Amelia’s inbox was full of requests to help people build their online presence.

Amelia had already amassed around 15k followers on LinkedIn while working as an employee helping her employer win more business.

Her love of social media got her to a point where she saw starting a marketing agency as the only logical next step.

Today, she has 171k LinkedIn followers, The Top Voice badge, a successful business, a team of 13, and $850k+ in the bank just off her personal brand.

What’s more? In just 3 years of writing on LinkedIn, this is what Amelia has achieved ➡️

  1. Quit job, launched business, scaled it to 7 figures in literally just 3 years
  2. Generated over $3,000,000+ in inbound revenue.
  3. Gets paid to deliver keynotes all around the world and speak at LinkedIn HQ 2x times.
  4. Gets paid to train employees of clients
  5. Built a swanky office and a team of 13

Let’s dive into how she did it all.

Amelia’s Content Strategies to Implement for 10x Growth:

Although Amelia does not create content for her clients anymore and has assumed a leadership role, she often shares her winning LinkedIn content strategies.

Here are a few golden ones:

1️⃣Amelia’s 7x4 content rule

Consistency is quite underrated, but it’s also hard when multiple things pull you in different directions.

Amelia shares with us 3 types of content that’s worth reading and sharing on LinkedIn.

Content that:

  • Educates
  • Inspires
  • Entertains/ Amuses

Another thumb rule she absolutely stands by is that first 99 times you give value to your audience, and then one time you ask them for something you want – client/ subscribe/follow/download/buy, etc.

2️⃣Amelia’s 9x4 commenting strategy

Not sure why she emphasizes on 9 influencers, but spend a few minutes reading posts of people you look up to in your niche. Add meaningful comments on their posts and try to start a conversation in the comments section.

I vouch for this personally, as I have seen tremendous growth in followers and impressions myself with this strategy.

Almost all top creators vouch for this one. Two creator names that are on top of my mind are Jasmin Alic and Vedika Bhaia.

3️⃣Content Framework of the Top 1% of LinkedIn Creators

These 6 points below crisply explain what a perfect post on LinkedIn should look like.

This is mainly due to 2 reasons:

  1. Attention spans are getting shorter by the day.
  2. The LinkedIn audience consists of busy professionals who want to spend minimum time on the platform to gain the necessary information.

4️⃣Optimize content for mobile viewing (for 57% of the total LinkedIn users)

If you have a habit of writing long sentences, like me, this strategy is game-changing to increase impressions on your posts.

  • Break down your sentences into bullet points
  • Get the gist in crisp tweet-like messages
  • Format them in clear paras with lots of white space

5️⃣How to Create maximum content in no time [11 content pieces in 1 hr]

With the advancement of AI in our world, the time taken to create content is getting lesser and lesser every day.

It does not have to be what ChatGPT spews out from an average prompt.

But let’s say you wrote a blog in an hour. You can definitely use AI to create LinkedIn posts from the 10 most important points of the blog.

Tweak these posts to match your tone of voice, add your creatives, and schedule them for 2 weeks.

6️⃣Optimum Social distribution strategy

Amelia believes that no repurposing content is like wearing a great outfit just once.

She emphasizes on smart social media distribution of content in one of her posts on how to create 104 pieces of content from 3 pieces of content.

It’s the smartest method of repurposing content.

If you follow this method and engage with your audience and creators from your niche in a disciplined manner, it will surely elevate your personal brand on LinkedIn.

All you need is an optimized LinkedIn profile with a laser-focused call to action aligned with your business goal.

7️⃣How to workout worth of a piece of content

Amelia has a smart formula to rank her content. Why is it needed in the first place?

Make data your best friend.

Try all types of content you can think of.

But analyze it weekly and monthly and double down on what works the best.

Amelia here want to emphasize that likes are just vanity metrics.

The real reward lies in the DMs > Shares > Saves.

It shows how valuable your content was to your audience. [See pic.]

8️⃣Smart Cold Pitching Strategy

This is a gem I found while digging into her posts and podcasts. I am not sure if she has shared this information so openly anywhere else.

But she used to set up Google alerts for top industry updates in the niche she was targeting to get clients.

Then she used to send those updates especially about competitors of her dream clients in DMs. She did it to the point that they started responding to her with, “How do you know all of this before us?”

She would respond saying, “How do you not know about it?”

She did it to essentially get a foot in the door with her clients and show them how tenacious she was in her work.

Smart move, isn’t it?

Amelia freely talks about her mistakes and failures. She believes that when we fail, we learn and ultimately succeed.

According to her, The best way to not be scared of failure is to know that you always will fail, and that’s how you win.

🗣️Stop creating problems in your head

Most of the time, the things that we worry the most are all just imaginary.

We create scenarios in our head with “What-ifs”.

Amelia stresses on knowing that almost all of us whether successful or not, have no idea what we are doing.

We should stop comparing ourselves to others, especially comparing our negatives to their positives which is not even an apple-to-apple comparison.

Instead of overthinking a step, one should do it and find out if it works or not.
